Gary Wandschneider Expertise on Plant Operations
Monday, July 25th, 2011During his stint at the Pepsi Bottling Group, Gary Wandschneider, its VP for Worldwide Operations showed is expertise in a lot of ways. One of his most notable projects for the company was the sanitation, automation, and operation efficiency of the PBG’s New River Valley plant in Wytheville, Va. This plant, designed and built by PBG in 2004, has cost the company $60 to $70 million in investments. According to Mr. Wandschneider, the plant’s sanitation approach has taken clean-up to a new level as the plant has a centralized computer system that automatically releases sanitizing and cleaning solutions for when and where they are needed. This system will clean the inside of the filling machine as well as the exterior. The new plant also uses a new computer system that uses propriety software that tracks the plant performance by system, by process or by line. With this new system, it will improve quality, safety, service and cost levels.
With his diverse experience in plant operation, Gary Wandschneider will be bringing all his technical expertise to Hostess Brands, Inc. The Hostess Brands, Inc. is a wholesale baker and distributor of bread and snack cakes in the United States. As its Consultant and Vice President for Operations, he will definitely have a lot to say to increase the performance level of the company’s plant.
